Survey

This is your chance to let me know what YOU would love to see in these kits. Please leave your responses as comments to this 'blog post' Also, be sure to remember to subscribe to the mailing list so you can be the first 'in the know' when the kits become available.

1. Simple crafts would use colored paper, cut out or with some printed design/template, and some cheaper craft supplies, such as feathers, pom poms, glitter, ribbons, eyes etc etc. These quick and easy crafts form the basis of the kits, independent, easy setup and easy cleanup. However some wonderful craft ideas require more supplies and more assistance/supervision. Lets call these deluxe crafts. Would you like to see these deluxe crafts incorporated into the kits? How much work would you like to do with them? How would you like to see them added?
          - 12 simple crafts a month, no deluxe?
          - 8 simple crafts a month, 4 deluxe craft a month, all in one kit?
          - 8 simple crafts a month, with an optional add on of 4 deluxe with an extra cost?
          - Some other ratio of simple/deluxe craft not presented here?
          - Or would some other combination not presented here suit you better? Let me know!

2. Would you be interested in any crafts that require supplies from you which are awkward to post (eg pasta or food colouring). If so, how many would you have patience for before the convenience of the kits is lessened?
           - One or two items a month?
           - 4 or more items a month?
           - Must not require anything more than glue/scissors/crayons from me

3. Would you be interested in some other, preschool development, optional add-ons? What kind and how much involvement from you?
            - A 'Busy Bag' of the month - This is an independent activity of some form which can be contained in a little ziplock bag and thrown in the nappy bag or pulled out on a rainy day. These activities may include sorting, buttoning, pegs, shape/colour recognition, role play, or any number of other elements. These would be sent with instructions and components, but would require a small amount of time from you to actually put together (cutting shapes from felt, sewing a few buttons onto something, a little gluing, etc). I would aim to keep prep time for the parent less than 15 minutes and using only household items, needle and thread. The convenience here would be not having to buy lots of materials to only use a few of each thing, and not having to search for ideas. The thing that always puts me off busy bags is the leftovers and the cost to buy so much when I only need a few things. So often when I think of making something, I end up spending $20 and have enough leftovers to make 5 more, but I just can't buy in smaller quantities.
            - Idea of the Week suggestions - These would include instructions for things like kid-friendly recipes, sensory tubs, or games. These would all be instruction only, as many of the components for these things are not practical to post, but I would hope the convenience of having the shopping list and instructions there for something new each week would be a nice way for those extras that often get skipped over to get done.

4. What age range would you like to see covered? Would you be interested in paying a little more for different kits for different levels, or would an all inclusive kit which a younger child will need extra assistance in suit you? Some ideas I had are
            - A single kit with an age range of 3-5 years
            - A little ones kit for ages 2-4 and a bigger kids kit for ages 4-6
            - Is there any interest in kits outside the 2-6 age group? If so, please elaborate on what you might like
            - Other age division altogether

5. Cost. Obviously this is a major factor. Can you please indicate what you would be willing to pay each month for a kit like this (including postage). If you have indicated that you would be interested in certain add ons or keeping the deluxe crafts optional, could you also include a price range for those?

6. Would you be interested in any long-term projects (e.g. each month having 2 crafts which, by the end of the year, would result in a little book or collection)

7. Do you have any other ideas? Things you'd like to see incorporated?

Thank you for your time to answer these questions and give me some indication of what you'd like to see!          -
